Troubleshooting in the Web App
If you find you're running into inexplicable issues in your budget on the web app, there are steps you can take to get things sorted out (or get a head start if we have to jump in!).
Is the Issue Browser-Specific?
Now and then a specific browser's functioning can interfere with the YNAB app. By ruling this out (or in!) as a possible cause of what you're running into will help our bug experts and developers as they do all that they can to fix any interference on YNAB's end.
Here's how to check if your issue is browser-specific:
Try to use YNAB in another browser or a private window. Do you still see the issue?
- If not, you’ll want to go ahead and clear your cache just so you know, you will lose certain information that your browser remembers, so you may have to reset logins, etc.
- If you're still seeing the issue happen, it may be caused by a browser extension...
Is a Browser Extension causing the issue?
When browser extension programs release updates and YNAB releases updates it's not uncommon for issues to pop-up. Luckily these are often quickly remedied – we'll do what we can on our end and the extension developers can also help with a fix!
If you use any browser extensions, go ahead and turn them off one at a time until you figure out which one is causing the problem.
YNAB ❤ Extension Developers
If you did find that an extension caused the problem we’d love to know which one it is so that we can look into it. Email us at [email protected] with details! You can also contact the extension developer to let them know it caused this problem.
If none of the above steps work, they will help narrow things down a bit, so thanks for giving them a try!
Write to us at [email protected] to let us know what you tried and what happened (and any other details about what you're running into in your budget). Screenshots or screencasts are also helpful: we use a simple, free tool called CloudApp that will let you record up to 15 seconds.
