Weekly Targets

Do you have a weekly pay schedule? Perhaps you prefer to budget for your grocery run each week? Or maybe you’re trying to cut back your morning drive-thru spending to $10 a week (some mornings you just need a caramel macchiato, right)? Weekly targets are here to help!

With a Weekly target, you can spend up to the total target amount without being prompted to assign more, and the total target amount will adjust depending on what day of the week you would like to have the target met by (and how many of those days occur in the month).

A Weekly target can be set within the Needed For Spending target option, and you can even choose which day you would like your week to begin again.

Target Progress

With the category selected, you’ll see your target progress to the right of your budget, broken into the number of weeks in the current month.

Sidebar shows Spending Target Weekly and a breakdown of the progress: how much more is needed versus what is already funded

You’ll notice that even if you’ve assigned enough to meet your weekly target amount, the progress will still show as yellow underfunded.

This is because the weekly target will continue to prompt you to budget until all weeks in the month are funded, unless the target was created this month. The first month that a weekly target is created, you won’t be prompted to assign money for weeks that have already passed by the date the target is created.

The number of weeks, and how much you’re asked to budget for the full month, will change based on how many times the selected day of the week occurs in the given month.
