Air Academy Federal Credit Union

  • If you're running into credential issues and created a custom login name through AAFCU, you may need to revert your login settings with AAFCU back to the account number (the default setting) in order to connect.

  • American Express (UK) is known to change their transaction IDs, so multiple copies of the same transaction (duplicates, triplicates, etc) are expected to import if connected via our import provider TrueLayer.

  • If you're getting stuck in an authentication loop, you'll want to try:
    • logging in to ACU's website and completing the authentication there.
    • Then, immediately try connecting in YNAB again to see if you can receive the code and connect.
    • Feel free to try logging into YNAB via a private or incognito window as well!

  • Payees and Memos will import swapped around. You'll need to correct those manually, or use File-Based Importing to swap them automatically.

  • Checks will not import due to Discover Bank's unique handling of their transaction ID numbers. If you would like to reach out to Discover Bank to encourage them to change their data format, you can let them know the 'FITID' should be unique for each check.

ENT Credit Union

  • If you are unable to link or import from your ENT credit card, try connecting through the institution called "ELAN CardMember Service."
  • Our import provider, Plaid, is unable to support business accounts with Ent Credit Union.

Fidelity Credit Card

  • You must first register your card through Elan Card Services before you can log into Fidelity Credit Card (a.k.a., fidelityrewards.com) in YNAB.
  • Fidelity displays transactions on their website with the transacted date, not the posted/cleared date, whereas YNAB imports the posted/cleared date. Something to keep in mind when reconciling your accounts.

  • If your Fidelity Visa credit card (supported by Elan Financial Services) is missing from your connection to Fidelity Investments, try adding a new connection and searching for "Fidelity Credit Card" in the institution list.

  • If you're not receiving the one time password (OTP) code from First Citizens, you can call them to receive a secure code, that you can then use to connect in YNAB.

First State Bank - Gainesville TX

  • First State Bank doesn't flag pending transactions, which means they'll import as cleared before the payee is finalized. When the posted version imports after clearing, there will be a correct payee.

First Financial FCU of Maryland

  • If you see an "Action required" error, try going to your First Financial online banking and changing your home screen preference to show only the accounts (rather than the Year-to-Date summary, for example). Then retry the connection in YNAB.

  • FCU will provide a fake phone number for the two-factor authentication method when invalid credentials are entered. If you don't recognize the phone number provided, try your credentials again making sure to manually enter them (rather than copying/pasting or using a password manager).

  • Guaranty Bank does not distinguish pending transactions in their data, so duplicates are expected to import if connected via our import provider, Plaid.

  • In order to connect with HMBradley and link any HMBradley accounts in your budget, you'll need to generate credentials specifically for YNAB (rather than using the credentials you use to log in to your HMBradley account). Here's how to do that.

ImaginBank

  • Connections to ImaginBank are supported, even though this financial institution will not appear when you search for it during the connection process. To connect with ImaginBank and link accounts, search for "Caixa (ES)" first. You will be invited to select ImaginBank from within the Caixa connection flow.

  • Due to how Island Savings Credit Union posts transactions, you may experience an import delay (for up to a week). If you'd rather not work with this delay, we suggest trying out our other transaction entry options to keep your accounts updated.

  • In order to connect, Key Bank requires you to enable third party access in your banking portal. If you're not sure if this is already enabled, log into your Key Bank account and go to User Profile. Under Password and Security, click to enable third party access.

M1 Finance

  • M1 Finance does not support transaction exports for use with our file-based import. You'll need to link your account or keep accounts updated by adding transactions as they occur.
  • Their support team encourages emailing them at [email protected] to submit a feature request saying you'd like easier access to your transaction data. This could be in the form of data files (like universally friendly QFX/QIF files) and/or the ability for third-party financial management programs (like YNAB) to have access to this read-only data.

Nicolet National Bank

  • Nicolet National Bank uses a third-party credit card processor we're currently unable to support. This means you won't see your credit card available to connect. You'll need to use our other transaction entry options to keep it updated.

Northway Bank

  • Northway Bank does not flag pending transactions, which means they'll import as cleared and before the payee is finalized. When the posted version imports after clearing in real life, the payee will be different and our import provider will think this is a new transaction. This may cause duplicates to import.

  • If you're prompted to enter an email address for Northwest Christian Credit Union, be sure to use the email address associated with your online banking account.

  • If you are unable to connect, you may need to change your character count. Pottery Barn requires passwords to be 8-15 characters.

South State Bank

  • If you have a credit card with South State Bank that isn't working for you (i.e., it's not connecting or importing), try creating a separate connection to the third-party issuer of the credit card. In the past, this has been Elan Financial Services, but this is subject to change so we recommend searching YNAB with the web address where you view your credit card history.

Starling (UK)

  • TrueLayer holds a single certificate with Starling to allow users to connect to third-party applications. This means that only one connection per user can exist at a time. If you use TrueLayer to connect to Starling in another application, or if you try to connect more than one account within YNAB, it is expected that only the most recent connection will have access to your data at Starling. All others will be disconnected.
  • Starling Savings Spaces should be added as Unlinked accounts in YNAB. Because the funds in a Savings Space live within a primary bank account (though the balance is kept separate), it is expected that Savings Spaces balances will not be updated even if they are available to link.

  • If you’re having trouble getting connected, log in to Tinker FCU and check for messages/alerts. Then, try connecting in YNAB again. Still no luck? Try updating your security questions.

  • This connection works best when the account nickname at the credit union makes reference to the account type (checking, savings, credit card, etc.). For example, if a checking account is nicknamed "Personal", please login to Tyndall FCU and rename it "Personal Checking."

  • If you're having trouble connecting, you'll want to:
    • log in to UBS Online Services and go to Profile Settings
    • Enroll for Account Aggregation Services (select 'Fiserv - AllData by Fiserv' and click on the 'Enroll' button to begin the online enrollment process).

  • If you're getting a connection error and are being asked for a "Personal Access Code," try entering your online banking password in that field instead.

  • In order to connect your account, you may need to create and use an app-specific password in Wealthfront.

WECU

  • Due to the way WECU formats their data files, credit card transactions will import with reversed inflow and outflow amounts. You'll need adjust them manually or use file-based importing instead to quickly reverse them before bringing them into your account register.
